Saul: A Kingdom Inaugurated

In the grand narrative of Scripture, God has woven the plan of salvation throughout. The first King of Israel, who was the king that the people wanted, after rejecting God for their King, still worked out in Salvation History. Saul was set apart by God for His purposes. Although Saul would prove to be disobedient, the inauguration of the Kingdom was essential in the story of redemption.
