A New Day: God's Call to Obedience and Boldness

Eli was facing judgment because he failed to boldly call out the sins of his sons. Now, Samuel is being called as a prophet and his first vision is the carrying out of God's judgment on Eli. Eli warns Samuel to not withhold the truth from him. In the stark contrast between Samuel and Eli's sons, we can see our calling in this time. We must fight sin, but we must also speak boldly with full truth, and not blunt the sword of the Word of God.
